On a Windows Vista-based computer, or on a Windows Server code name “Longhorn” -based computer, you install an update package. However, the installation may fail. Additionally, you may also receive the following error message:
Not enough storage is available to process this command.
Note The installation failure occurs if the update package is designed for one of the following operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows 2000
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows XP
When you check the free space on the hard disk, or when you check the physical memory, you find that there is sufficient space to install the package. Therefore, you may find that the error message is misleading.

Drive_letter:\ is not accessible.
The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable
When this problem occurs, the disc properties may indicate that the disc contains no files and that the size of the disc is zero.
This problem occurs with specific models of DVD recordable drives. This problem is known to occur with the following models. However, the problem may also occur with other specific models.
- Liteon DVD-ROM LTD163
- Matshita UJDA755
- SONY DRU-510A
- Most DVD drives that were manufactured before 2004

After you run the Out Of Box Experience (OOBE) Wizard on a Windows Vista-based computer, and then you restart the computer for the first time, you may find that the wrong language is applied. For example, this problem may occur in the following scenario:
- The Serbian (SR-latn-cs) language pack is applied to a factory image of Windows Vista.
- Language packs for other languages are also applied to the same factory image of Windows Vista.
- A partially localized language pack is selected in the OOBE Wizard. For example, Ukrainian is selected, or a language other than Serbian is selected.
In this scenario, Windows Vista starts correctly, and the correct language is applied. However, after the computer is restarted, the wrong language is applied. For example, the Serbian language is applied as the default language after the computer is restarted.
Note: A partially localized language pack contains most of, but not all, the language resources for the user interface in Windows Vista. To provide a full user interface, a partially localized language pack depends on a base language pack. For example, Ukrainian is a partially localized language pack, and approximately 80 percent of the language resources in this language pack have been localized into Ukrainian. The remaining 20 percent of the language resources may be in either English or French. Both English and French are fully localized languages.

Consider the following scenario:
- You are running a Windows Vista-based computer.
- A USB speaker is connected to the computer.
- You resume the computer from sleep or from hibernation.
- You use Windows Media Player to play music.
In this scenario, you cannot adjust the volume for the USB speaker. This is true even when you move the volume slider up or down or click the mute button in either of the following locations:
- In Windows Media Player
- In the Windows Vista sound control panel
